Allison Simmons-Jacobi

Allison is a forward-looking, strategic thinker that puts a premium on client relations and is passionate about delivering excellence. Much of her career has been in transportation and the Federal sector, including Federal Highway Administration, US Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of State, National Women's Business Council, and others.
Allison's notable experience includes:
Served as Magazine Editor and Project Manager for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)'s Public Roads magazine—the Administration's premier 108-year-old publication. Under her leadership, several special issues were released, including "Safe System Approach" and "Safer Speeds and Speed Management,” marketing and promotion, and coordinating content and outreach with the Volpe Center’s Center for Communications, Navigation, Surveillance and Systems Engineering, NHTSA, state DOTs, academia, and other partners.
Supported the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration/Volpe Center safety programs, providing editorial oversight, collateral and material production for the large truck and bus industry. In addition, offered key editorial support on the Second Strategic Highway Research Program national strategic communications plan, conducting research, and content development and quality control.
Served as interim Project Manager for Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Ginnie Mae division, aligning the team with client goals, advancing content and design for marketing, website development support, and maintaining tight client deadlines.
Oversaw website development for the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CDOT) and a full-scale website redesign project for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC). For CDOT, Allison managed the development of the I-84 Danbury and Heroes Tunnel websites. With NYMTC, Allison guided the team on content development and design.
Allison holds a BS degree in physics, with a double minor in math and English from the former College of New Rochelle in New York. Her life coaching certifications inform her thoughtful and strategic approach to project management, leadership, and team building.
